Not a Barbie, but a Dolly for Sure

IMG_2372Last week I built a dolly on which to set my 1958 Lyman Outboard while I am doing the restoration.  It’s a simple wood structure with carpeted bunks and lockable wheels that will properly support the hull and keep the boat stable while I am climbing around in it.  It can also easily be adapted to support the boat when I flip it over to do the hull bottom.  The original trailer on which the boat was mounted was a tubular rollers-only type trailer, which very poorly supported the boat.  It also caused some hogging to the keel and some damage to the hull bottom near the transom where the boat had rested on its rollers for the last 30 years.
